The site’s transformation has been more than a year and a half in the making. What began as two separate residential lots—one home demolished and the other relocated, renovated, and expanded into a rental property—has now been consolidated and rezoned into a single commercial parcel ready for development.

“This is the largest project we have taken on, but that doesn’t mean we’re not ready for it,” said the Frontline Construction team. “Over the years, we have steadily built our experience through smaller interior build-outs and renovation work, always with an eye toward scaling up. We’ve been intentional about laying a solid foundation both in how we work and how we grow. So, taking on a project this size is a natural step. It’s not just a milestone for us; it’s a launching point into larger opportunities, and from here, the sky’s the limit.”

Frontline Construction has grown from a concept into a tight-knit team of three (Shon Griess, Mitch Kaiser, and Quenton Griess), bringing over 40 years of combined industry experience. The company has built its reputation on quality, coordination, and delivering results for both new and long-term clients, including its ongoing partnership with Talsma Furniture.

Talsma’s newest store will not only expand the family-owned brand’s presence but also bring a significant new retail option to the Kalamazoo community.
